Bholaa Movie Review: Ajay Devgn’s Actioner is All About the Thrills
Star Cast: Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao, Sanjay Mishra, Vineet Kumar, Makarand Deshpande, Amir Khan
Director: Ajay Devgn
Bholaa, directed by Ajay Devgn, is an action-packed movie that keeps you at the edge of your seat with exhilarating chase scenes and VFX-filled action sequences. The film revolves around IPS Diana Joseph (played by Tabu), who manages to catch a drug shipment worth crores that was being transported by the Sikka Gang’s Nithari (Vineet Kumar) and his crazy brother Ashwathama (Deepak Dobriyal).
However, Ashwathama goes insane when his brother gets arrested, and Diana must keep her colleagues safe while transporting them to a hospital along a highway full of death traps. Bholaa’s narrative is heavy on action but also adds unnecessary clutter, such as a love track and a father-daughter subplot that hold the movie back.
Ajay Devgn’s performance as Bholaa is impressive, as he portrays a silent hero who communicates with his eyes instead of one-liners. Tabu is mind-blowing as always, while Deepak Dobriyal’s portrayal of Ashwathama is entertaining and quirky. Gajraj Rao and Sanjay Mishra also deliver good performances, while Vineet Kumar’s portrayal of Nithari is convincing.
Ajay Devgn’s direction is commendable, and his vision for cinema shines through in the film’s action sequences. Ravi Basrur’s background score is loud and goes over the board, similar to his work in the KGF franchise.
Overall, Bholaa is a thrilling action movie that showcases Ajay Devgn’s grand vision for cinema. While it could have benefited from a tighter script and less clutter, the film’s action sequences and performances make it an entertaining watch.
